Book 7: Caravan of Misfits

Bastion has been lost.

Steve and his friends have managed to escape what was once their home, now in the hands of the evil businessman Mortimer. Steve knows they won’t get it back without a fight – and he feels too hopeless to even try.

Another adventure means danger, and danger means chaos.

For the first time in a while, Steve can’t help but feel that things would be better if he had stayed in the little block house he shared with his faithful cow. The world was simple then: Steve mined for ores, and he chopped trees for wood.

As Steve’s friends start going their separate ways, a caravan of misfits is all that remains. There’s the forgetful blue fox named Foxfree, and his fishbowl-headed companion, Maurice. There’s the quick talkin’ cowgirl named Sunny, and the villain-turned-ally James.

They escape into the big, blocky world, hoping to find answers, and Steve wishes for nothing more than a chance to put adventure behind him.

The only problem is that it seems like they’re being followed…

Between the monsters in the depths of the ocean, to weird happenings late at night, Steve is certain that something dangerous is always one step behind them.

Can the Caravan of Misfits find what they’re looking for?

Or will peril finally catch up to them?

Find out in this new exciting new chapter in the Changing Horizon series by Mark Mulle.

Book 8: The Never-Ending Nether

Steve and his friends are stuck in a Nether none of them recognize.

From massive, ash mountains of basalt rising in the distance, to forests both blue-green and crimson that meet on opposite sides of rivers of lava – Steve, Alex, and James are terrified. Aspects of the Overworld have been known to change, but they’ve never faced an entire dimension shifting into something else.

Behind them, Enchantro and his evil gang of bounty hunters are on their trail.

Before them, a house stands in the distance – a mansion both spectacular and strange.

When Steve and his friends find safety at a party being held in the worst place imaginable, things seem like they’re finally looking up. All Steve and his friends need to do are enjoy some cake, and chat with some of the guests, and then the owner of the mansion will take them to the nearest portal back home.

But when guests start disappearing one by one, the party in the Nether reveals itself to be something sinister. Only by keeping their wits about them in the dry air can they solve a mystery… but they need to hurry.

Every time the redstone lamps flicker for a few moments, someone vanishes.

Book 9: The Griefer’s Gambit

Steve and Alex have been captured by the bounty hunters, who threaten to take them back to the villainous Mortimer. With Bastion now under his control and their allies spread in four directions of the wind, it seems their only hope lies with who was once their greatest nemesis.

Across the world, James knows that they are facing a much larger threat.

A mysterious girl seems to have mastered a new kind of magic, that of Modification. It is with this terrible trickery that she turned Enchantro into a fire-breathing dragon, heading straight for Bastion to exact his revenge.

But James has been powerful before.

And he knows better than anyone how power corrupts.

With his friends in danger, and this new reality-bending magic no doubt being the kind that could lead to the end of the world, it is up to James – once the world’s most dangerous Griefer – to save the things he has grown to care about.
